Gisin topped the podium in a time of 1:24.14 minutes ahead of Olympic medallists Lindsey Vonn and Julia Mancuso, who finished second and third respectively.

Vonn, who won downhill gold in Vancouver despite suffering from a shin injury, was 0.15 seconds behind the 24-year-old from Switzerland while Mancuso, who claimed silver in the downhill and super combined, was a further 0.38 seconds back.

Gisin failed to finish in the women's downhill event at the Winter Olympics after a spectacular fall but looked to have fully recovered as she recorded her third World Cup victory of her career.

She now moves up to 11th in the Super G overall standings with 140 points.

Vonn, who has already claimed the World Cup Super G title for this season, remains at the top of the standings on 520 points while Austria's Andrea Fischbacher, who finished down in 12th in Switzerland, is second with 239 points.
