LINDSEY Vonn produced a charging performance to chalk up another victory with a super-G World Cup triumph in the Italian Dolomites.

Vonn, who won her first super-G of the season in Haus im Emnstal a fortnight ago, secured her 29th career win in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

And the win eased her back to the top of the overall World Cup standings, after close friend Maria Riesch paid the price for aggressive tactics and placed a distant 15th.

Vonn clocked 1.21.74 to finish nearly seven tenths of a second ahead of nearest rival, Switzerland's Fabienne Suter, while Sweden's Anja Paerson again had to settle for a place on the podium beneath the in-form American in third.

However, Vonn insisted she could have gone faster - and vowed to take her winning tally to 30 in tomorrow's downhill.

"I'm a bit disappointed that I made a mistake at the bottom, but overall I'm happy," she said.

"I have a lot of confidence at the moment and hopefully I can do it again tomorrow. It's all going well."

Great Britain's Chemmy Alcott - in her first race since the news that her national governing body, SnowsportGB, was on the verge of administration - finished a disappointing joint 21st, almost exactly two seconds off Vonn's blistering pace.

Alcott has claimed she is owed £20,000 by SnowsportGB, which she will lose if they go into administration. It is understood her coach, Mark Tilson, has not been paid for five months.
