ALAN Wills couldn't see the wood for the trees after an unceremonious exit from the 2008 Olympics but two years on and he only has eyes for London 2012.

Wills, dubbed ‘Dangerous' by his contemporaries, cut a forlorn figure upon returning from the Far East two years ago and blamed a poor working relationship with then British coach Peter Suk.

The 2007 world silver medallist arrived in Beijing with grand designs on a medal but as things went pear-shaped in the third round, Wills contemplated hanging up his quiver upon his return.

Wills however, has found a new lease of life this season and last month bagged gold at the World Archery Field Championships in Hungary.

And the 39-year-old, a carpenter by trade, is adamant that his quest for five-ringed success in London in two years time is now firmly back on track.

"Winning the World Championships is one of the biggest, if not the biggest achievement of my career," said Wills.

"I was ranked number one in the world in the event back in 2006 but never got my hands on the World Championship title so I was really pleased with the result.

"At the time I thought it might be my last chance because I had considered retiring from the sport but I'm looking at things really positively at the moment.

"It has reignited my love of the sport. I was in a dark place after the 2008 Olympics and things weren't going that well for me but now I'm in the best shape of my life and things are going in the right direction."
