GREAT Britain's Liam Grimwood captured silver at the World Championships in Ulsan, Korea - but narrowly missed out on top honours.
JUST OFF TARGET: Liam Grimwood (left) narrowly missed out on World Championship gold, with Reo Wilde triumphant
Grimwood beat Spain's Jose Duo 115-114 in his compound semi-final to guarantee a medal.
And the Merseyside archer pushed America's Reo Wilde all the way in the match for gold before going down 118-116.
Both men started with two tens and a nine from their first three arrows before Wilde pulled ahead in the second end, shooting three tens to Grimwood's nine and two tens.
Grimwood finished with a perfect three tens but so did Wilde, who added the individual world title to the team honours American sealed on Tuesday.
"Liam's had a fantastic tournament, and winning a World Championship silver medal is a tribute to his hard work and dedication," said performance manager Barry Eley.
"Obviously a gold would have been nice, but Reo is a terrific, and experienced, archer, and Liam was in it right to the end. We're all very proud of him."
