The 37-year old, who won bronze in Athens and is targeting a sixth Olympic appearance at London 2012, was one of 200 competitors taking part in the new look event in Evesham, Gloucestershire.
And while others struggled in the swirling winds and driving rain, she dominated the women's recurve event - beating Beijing team-mate Naomi Folkard in her final.
Tom Barber took the honours in men's recurve beating surprise finalist Grant Womack, who in turn had knocked out experienced international Larry Godfrey.
Nicky Hunt, a World Cup gold medallist in Croatia last weekend, lost in the early rounds of the women's compound while British number one Chris White also made a premature exit in the men's event.
Jan Howells and James Forbes went on to take the titles.
"Despite the dreadful conditions, spirits were high, as they always are, and everyone just got on with it, but I must admit the conditions did make for some interesting scores, especially in qualifying," said organiser Jon Nott
"But there are still four more tournaments to go, so there's all to play for."
