Team bronze for Britain's archers in Sofia
GREAT Britain's women claimed bronze at the team event of the European Grand Prix in Sofia.
Beijing Olympian Charlotte Burgess was joined by Emma Downie and Amy Oliver and the trio - defeated by eventual silver medallists Russia in the semi-finals - beat Italy in the bronze medal shoot-off while Poland claimed gold.
Chris White won the men's compound at the Stephanie Hall Memorial FITA while Naomi Folkard continued her comeback from a shoulder injury to take the women's recurve title - her 1293 score a season's best.
Meanwhile, Hilda Gibson has been appointed England team manager for next year's Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
Archery is making its first appearance at the Games since it's inclusion in 1982 in Brisbane and England will be among the most powerful nations competing.
"This is a great honour, and I am delighted," said Gibson, who also managed the Great Britain team at last year's Beijing Olympics.
"It is another great opportunity for me personally, but also for our archers, who will be very competitive out there.
"There will be some very strong opposition, and there is a lot of work to do between now and next year. But I am confident that we will return home with medals."
