Suk to step down from Archery GB after four years at the helm
DEPARTING head coach Peter Suk insists he is leaving Archery GB in good shape after announcing his intention to stand down after four years in charge.
The 54-year old will return to South Korea after September's World Cup Grand Final in Copenhagen where Simon Terry and Nicky Hunt will both be competing.
The Korean has achieved mixed success since arriving in Britain in 2005 after 14 successful years in Italy.
He guided British archers to three medals at the 2007 World Championships in Leipzig as well as four medals at the Paralympic Games in Beijing and another five at the Para World Championships in the Czech Republic in August.
And although an absence of medals at the Olympics in Beijing was the large blot on his otherwise impressive resume, the Korean is adamant British archers should not walk away empty handed from London in three years time.
"I have really enjoyed my time in Britain but the time has come for me to return to my family in Korea," said Suk.
"It is an exciting time for British Archery right now. We have a number of archers up there with the best in the world and plenty of very good youngsters coming through the ranks.
"There's three years to go now until the London Olympics and I hope I've laid good foundations for my successor to help win medals there."
