MARK Cas has been granted a two-week adjournment to his committal for trial after his defence successfully petitioned for a delay at Croydon Magistrates' Court.

A decision was set to be made on whether the director of Global Sponsorship Group, the sports agency who counted former Olympic champion Mark Lewis Francis among its clients, would be tried at either the Crown or Magistrates' Court.

However, the prosecution served more than 700 pages of documents relating to seven alleged counts of fraud.

Cas, who was not present in court but was involved in proceedings through a live video link up, remains remanded in custody after his defence argued that they would need more time to thoroughly read the documents and a new committal date has been set for March 30th.
