The world and Olympic champion lost out to Ferguson over 150m at last week's BUPA Great City Games in Manchester.

As she failed to better her over 200m at the Meeting Mohammed VI d' Athlétisme in Morocco.

Ohuruogu, who is spending the early part of the season concentrating on building up a speed base over shorter distances, ran a 23.20 second time to finish second behind the Ferguson, a world champion in 2001.

Simeon Williamson suffered disappointment in the 100m after he slipped on his blocks and failed to finish but Jenny Meadows beat an impressive field, which included Olympic champion Pamela Jelimo over 800m.
