FORMER world 100m champion Kim Collins will start his 2009 campaign at the Aviva British Grand Prix at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena.

Collins, from St Kitts & Nevis, shared 60m silver with Dwain Chambers at last year's World Indoor Championships in Valencia and won the world 100m title in 2003.

And he is planning a full indoor season as he attempts to break down the sprint dominance shown by Jamaica at the Beijing Olympics.

Double world gold medallist Bernard Legat - who saw his Olympic bid derailed by injury - will also be competing indoors, as he begins his campaign for the 2009 IAAF World Championships in Berlin.

"I was really happy with most of my season last year however unfortunately I picked up an injury mid July that was the worst possible time before Beijing," said Legat.

"That was very disappointing for me but that is behind me now and I'm very focused on defending my titles at the World Championships in Berlin."
