The Singapore Open winners got their men's doubles campaign off to a flying start with a 21-16, 21-15 victory over 2005 world champions Howard Bach and Tony Gunawan of the USA.
They will now face China's seventh seeds Guo Zhendong and Xu Chen but there was disappointment for Robert Blair and Chris Adcock who were forced to retire at 20-14 down against Fang Chieh Min and Lee Sheng Mu of Taipei due to Blair's back injury.
Clark, a former European champion with previous partner Donna Kellogg, teamed up with Heather Olver in the mixed doubles to brush aside Pia Zebadiah Bernadet and Fran Kurniawan Teng of Indonesia 21-7, 21-13.
And Robertson was also equally impressive with partner Jenny Wallwork as they saw off Valeriy Atrashchenkov and Elena Prus of Ukraine 21-14, 21-12.
And in the women's singles, the major shock of the first round came late in the day when second seed Lin Wang was sent crashing by unseeded Japanese opponent Eriko Hirose 10-21, 21-16, 21-18.
