Milne can take some solace in finishing top European in a sport dominated by Asian players - but that was little consolation for missing out on a place on the podium.
However, the 18-year old English Championship semi-finalist admitted Vietnam's Thi Trang Vu - a 21-15, 22-20 winner - was just too good and vowed to learn the lessons as she seeks a place on the senior Olympic team at London 2012.
"I made errors at crucial times I probably started thinking about other things - so it was my own fault really," said
"I let her get away from me a little bit too much and let her get a bit of rhythm.
"I'm pretty chuffed to have got this far but I would have liked to have beaten one of the top Asians in the tournament.
"When I came here I wanted to beat one of those girls but unfortunately I haven't been able to do that which is a bit disappointing."
