Unseeded Koreans claim shock win at Swiss Open

UNSEEDED Koreans Sung Hyun Ko and Yeon Seong Yoo stunned Malaysian top seeds Keat Keat Koo and Boon Heong Tang to claim the men's doubles Wilson Swiss Open Super Series title in Basel.

However, the unseeded Koreans in the mixed doubles final, Baek Cheol Shin and Hyun Young Yoo, couldn't beat more established team-mates Yong Dea Lee and Hyo Jung Lee, going down in straight sets 21-14, 21-18.

Shixian Wang beat Chinese team-mate Yanjiao Jiang 21-15, 21-19 to win the women's singles while China's Jie Chen came from behind to beat Long Chen 12-21, 21-15, 21-17 in the men's singles.

China were also victorious in the women's doubles as seventh seeds Qing Tian and Yang Yu beat Japanese fifth seeds Miyuki Maeda and Satoko Suetsame 21-16, 21-13.

Meanwhile, England's Sarah Milne and Toby Penty have qualified for the British team at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore later this year at the trials tournament in Svendborg, Denmark.
