SHEFFIELD Sharks re-established their two point lead at the summit of the BBL Championship with an impressive victory at Glasgow Rocks.

Fourth-placed Rocks pinned their opponents back in the early stages but once the Sharks had established a 20 point advantage at the start of the final quarter, they never looked back and secured a 100-93 win.

Newcastle Eagles had drawn level on points with the Sharks after their defeat of Guildford Heat on Friday night and without BBL top scorer Mike Cook through injury, Sheffield looked set for a stern test in Scotland.

But Tafari Toney and Ryan Patton made up for Cook's absence with 31 and 28 points respectively while Rob Yanders top-scored for the Rocks with 22.

The Eagles were also in action on Sunday night but faced Worthing Thunder in the BBL Trophy quarter final.

The North East side are defending Trophy champions and held off a determined fightback from the Thunder to book their semi-final spot with a 96-86 win.

Meanwhile, Cheshire Jets bounced back from Saturday's defeat to Airwaves Plymouth Raiders in style with an emphatic performance against bottom club PAWS London Capital.

Chez Marks top scored with 33 for the Jets as they secured a 112-68 victory at the Northgate Arena.

The Capital's plight was highlighted by the fact that Tomas Janusauskas and Ibrahim Gariba notched all but six of their team's points between the two of them.
