SHAWN Myers chipped in with 21 points as Cheshire Jets sealed their second final berth of the season, again downing Marshall MK Lions to reach the BBL Trophy Final.

Myers and co were in superb form throughout to help their side to a resounding 102-68 victory at the Northgate Arena, handing them an aggregate 181-148 win and booking a clash with Newcastle Eagles in the final.

The Jets exploded out of the blocks and caught the Lions cold, storming into a 10-4 lead after just three minutes and that soon became 18-4, only for a Yorick Williams three-pointer to reduce the arrears to 18-7.

Led by Williams, who notched up 21 points across the match, the Lions cut the deficit to 20-14 with three minutes left in the opening quarter, only for the Jets to embark on a spectacular 14-2 run.

That all but ended the Lions' chances of gaining revenge for their BBL Cup semi-final defeat and the Jets were just as ruthless in the second corner to take a 56-37 lead at the half-time interval.

The lead was extended to 26 points going into the final period and again the Jets came out on top, taking the quarter 26-18 to secure a thoroughly convincing victory.

Meanwhile, back in the BBL Championship, Worthing Thunder needed overtime to see off Guildford Heat and consolidate their grip on eighth place and therefore the final play-off place.

Chad McKnight was in inspirational scoring form and racked up an incredible 39 points to see the Sussex side home after the scores had finished 87-87 after all four quarters.

The Heat did take a 12-point lead into the final quarter but as Ville Makalainen, who notched a total of 23 points, helped drag his side back into it and force overtime.

But the Thunder regathered their composure to roar into a 95-87 lead and while that was cut to 97-91, the Heat could not close the gap any further, ensuring they lie ninth, six points behind Worthing, who ran out 102-96 winners.
