British coach Finch hit by further absences ahead of Euro qualifiers
BRITISH men's basketball coach Chris Finch has been hit by more withdrawals ahead of the forthcoming EuroBasket qualifying campaign.

Finch was already reeling from news that NBA star Ben Gordon's long-awaited British debut would be further put back following an ankle injury while Spanish based Joel Freeland was also ruled out.
Now Robert Archibald and Mike Lenzley have been withdrawn - with Finch citing ‘long seasons' as the reasons behind their absence.
It means a number of rising stars from the GB Future teams - Ashley Hamilton, Devan Bailey and Ogo Adegboye - have stepped up while Everton Tigers forward Olu Babolola has also been drafting into the squad, who arrive at their Surrey training base this weekend.
"It is unfortunate that we have suffered a number of high profile injuries, but we now need to concentrate on the players we have available, which is still a very talented group of individuals," said Finch.
"I am really looking forward to the impact the younger guys can make, I have no doubt they have the ability to be very important to the team having worked with them during the GB Futures campaign.
"I know how disappointed both Joel and Ben are not to have made it this year. Both Rob and Mike had long seasons with their clubs, so we are unfortunately going to have to do without them this summer.
"Although this is a blow, we have planned accordingly and brought in cover in those positions."
Great Britain face matches against Macedonia, Hungary, Ukraine and Bosnia & Herzegovina next month and know basketball's world governing body, Fiba, have stated EuroBasket qualification is the minimum standard required if they are to earn a hosts' invite to the London 2012 Olympics.

Hmm... "shooting, fencing, waterpolo"? Please.
"Give the money to sports which are able to reduce results" - I rest my case.
Back British Basketball!
Back them to what? A last
Back them to what? A last place finish? How is basketball worth £8.75m in funding? More than badminton, triathlon, judo, diving, boxing plus a host of 'smaller' sports - all proven medal winners. I'm all for a more even spread of the cash - after all, a sport with no success needs cash to grow for the future - but basketball and it's endless list of excuses is an embarrassment. The game may be worth billions elsewhere but it's worth sod all here.
So what sports exactly do
So what sports exactly do you believe are worthy of substantial amounts of funding? Props to these guys who have turned out to be proud to represent their country, noting all have no doubt had 'long' seasons! Hopefully this group of players do well then will it be a case of sing when your winning attitude 'anonymous'
What an excuse not to play
What an excuse not to play for your country 'you've had a long season'. Most of these guys aren't even British. Ben Gordon moved to USA days after he was born. Basketball gets millions for lottery despite achieving nothing but other sports - shooting, fencing, water polo - get nothing. It's a disgrace.
Exactly. Basketball had a
Exactly. Basketball had a huge hike in funding essentially because the sport appeals to inner city youths. Sport and politics never mix. Give the money to sports which are able to reduce results, not crime.
Just give it up, please.
Just give it up, please. British basketball is an embarrassment and the money being pumped into it is, quite frankly, a disgrace.
