Sapp runs riot as Rocks return to winning ways in Milton Keynes
GLASGOW Rocks returned to winning ways in the BBL Championship with a 119-90 defeat of Marshall MK Lions on Tuesday night.
The Scottish outfit had seen a five match winning streak ended by Cheshire Jets on Friday but bounced back in Milton Keynes to move four points clear at third in the league.
The Lions have struggled for consistency without star American pair EJ Harrison and Frank Holmes and slumped to a 40-13 deficit after the first quarter.
A 27 point deficit quickly became 39 points at the end of the third quarter and while the home side reduced the deficit by ten in the final quarter, it was too little, too late.
The Rocks' Jessie Sapp ran riot around the Lions' basket, bagging 39 points while Michael Crowell and Mike Copeland also contributed with another 20 and 17.
Yorick Williams top-scored for the home side with 22 but the Lions remain safely on track for a playoff place in seventh with two games and six points in hand over ninth-place Guildford Heat.
