Munn - nicknamed ‘The Big Man’ by team-mates - has a silver medal from Atlanta and bronze medals from Athens and Beijing and is determined to complete his collection on home soil.

Men's head coach Murray Tresder, who was disappointed his side settled for second behind the USA at the BT Paralympic World Cup in Manchester this weekend, confirmed his 12-strong squad after a tough selection process.

Four players - Ian Sagar, Dan Highcock, Gaz Choudhry and Matt Sealy - will all make their Paralympic debuts while the one significant change to the team that won the European Championships is Jon Pollock’s inclusion after a nine-month absence.

“It’s a real honour to have been picked for the team to compete at London 2012," said Munn.

"I’m also thrilled for the others who have been selected for the team although I feel for those who have just missed out as we have all worked and trained especially hard for the past four years to be there.

“It is definitely a special achievement for me to be able to compete in my sixth games especially with the competition and depth in the current squad.

"Hopefully with the support of the British public we can be a real force to be reckoned with in London.”

Four-time Paralympian Clare Strange is the most experienced name in the 12-strong women's squad, which has an average age of just 25.
