ANDREW Bridge inspired title hopefuls Newcastle Eagles to a narrow 88-82 victory over Everton Tigers.

The Merseysiders had dominated the early exchanges but Bridge, who netted 19 points, sparked Eagles into action when he drained successive three-pointers in the third quarter.

Newcastle player/coach Fab Flournoy made his return to action after spending more than a month on the sidelines with a broken finger.  He will hope the winning ways continue against Leicester Riders on Saturday night.

Elsewhere, Reggie Bratton banked a game high 31 points as Worthing Thunder beat hosts and BBL newboys Essex Pirates 88-77.
