Macaulay's pride in Lions after Sharks win
SHEFFIELD Sharks missed the chance to go top of the BBL Championship following a 98-89 double overtime loss to in-form Milton Keynes Lions.
Sharks' Mike Cook led the scoring with a game high 27 points but both EJ Harrison and Dawud Morris contributed 23-point haul for the Lions.
It's only the ninth time in 48 meetings between these clubs that the Buckinghamshire side have come out on top and the victory moves them to third on the table.
"It was a terrific game, the Sharks really came to play but I'm proud of how we played," said coach Vince Macaulay, after his side banked their fifth consecutive win in all competitions
"We had 30 turnovers but were still able to come through; we also had 63 rebounds and that just shows the effort that the guys put in."
Sheffield’s defeat means the Newcastle Eagles will get a chance to extend their slender league lead when they visit Plymouth Raiders on Sunday.
