Beijing's Sexiest Olympic Males

Posted: Friday 19th December 2008 | 21:43

The Olympic Village has been described as an 'adult Disneyland' and 'a two-week-long private party for thousands of hard bodies'. So if you don't land a medal, maybe you could find yourself in luck with one of these guys.

Francisco Javier Gómez Noya

Triathlon

Age: 25, Height: 1.78m, Star sign: Aries

The reigning world champion, Javier Gomez heartbreakingly finished fourth in Beijing after leading for much of the way.

Born in Switzerland to Spanish parents, the 25-year-old will be desperate to get his revenge at London 2012.

With a 1500m swim, a 40km bike ride and a 10km run all in a day's work, triathletes are among the fittest sportsmen in the world.

And Gomez is such a fine example of such athleticism.

And the good news is ladies, he's single.

Austin Smith

Hockey

Age: 23, Height: 1.79m, Star sign: Gemini

The South Africans left Beijing with the wooden spoon; finishing 12th after losing to the hosts China, but Smith was his country's top scorer, with four goals in the competition.

The midfielder was awarded player of the year by the South African Hockey Association at their annual awards ceremony last month for his efforts.

Smith, who hails from Cape Town, made his international debut in 2004, but he plies his trade in sunny Berkshire, where he plays for Reading.

So not only is he a stunner, but he lives in the UK.

Teddy Riner

Judo

Age: 19, Height: 2.04m, Star sign: Aries

The Guadeloupe-born judoka won his first world title in the heavyweight Judo (100+ kg) division in 2007 at the tender age of 18 years and five months, making him the youngest ever male world champion judoka.

Weighing in at 285lb, and standing at over 6'8" he is certainly a force to be reckoned with.

A highly competitive youngster, he hated to lose, and soon abandoned team sports after becoming increasingly frustrated that he could do little to stop his team losing.

OK, so you may have to let him win when you go bowling, but with this fine young specimen to admire, it would certainly be worth it.

Ryan Lochte

Swimming

Age: 24, Height: 1.88m, Star sign: Leo

Let's be honest, there was always going to be a swimmer somewhere in the top five best looking athletes.

They have a natural headstart over other sportsman who wear considerably more clothes during competition.

Ryan Lochte may play second fiddle in the pool to Michael ‘Eight Golds' Phelps, but he is a multiple world record holder and Olympic gold medallist in the 200m backstroke.

That said, he certainly has one other talent on his growing CV.

Lochte likes his ladies to have a good sense of humour, but sadly, he says he is too busy for a relationship at the moment.

Francis Hegarty

Francis Hegerty (Australia)

Rowing

Age:26, Height: 1.88m, Star sign: Virgo

Heggers, as he is affectionately known, was part of the Australian coxless fours that came so close to ending Great Britain's dominance of the coxless fours in Beijing.

Olympic rookies Hegerty (pictured far right), Matt Ryan, Cameron McKenzie-McHarg and James Marburg were in their own words ‘on the scrapheap' six months before the event, and qualified at the 11th hour in at a regatta in June.

They led the final before the GB guys did what they did best and claimed the gold.

Rowers are notoriously dedicated to their sport - getting up at ungodly hours to train, but they certainly know how to enjoy themselves too.
