Hauswald, who won Olympic mass start bronze last month at the Vancouver Winter Olympics, topped the podium again just two days after her 7.5km sprint victory.

On the recently renovated Holmenkollen track, the German finished in a time of 32:05.5 minutes after missing three targets.

Despite this week announcing her decision to retire at the end of this season, the 30-year-old has continued to impress, post-Vancouver, finishing third in last weekend's 10km pursuit at Kontiolahti.

Hauswald is now second in both the pursuit and overall standings and still in with a chance of claiming a World Cup crown.

Belarusian Darya Domracheva took the silver 5.4 seconds behind to sit fourth in the pursuit rankings and seventh in the overall standings.

Sweden's Anna Carin Olofsson captured the bronze 39.8 seconds off the pace and is now fifth in the overall standings with 697 points.

Double Olympic champion Magdalena Neuner from Germany, the overall World Cup leader before Saturday's event, finished eighth with five missed targets.

Neuner remains top of the overall list 54 points ahead of Hauswald on 791 with the final event of the World Cup season taking place on Sunday with the 12.5km pursuit.

Meanwhile, in the men's 20km pursuit World Cup champion Petter Northug took gold in a time of 1:00.04 hours to cement his place at the top of the standings.

Germany's Tobias Angerer won silver and the Czech Republic's Lukas Bauer took bronze.
