Emil Hegle Svendsen has moved to the top of the overall standings with 719 points thanks to his fourth place finish with just three events remaining this season - ahead of Christoph Sumann on 704 as the Austrian could only manage 14th.
Frenchman Fourcade led the race from the start to take victory by nine seconds with three missed targets and keep intact his record of hitting every podium since the Winter Olympics, where he won 15km mass start silver.
The 21-year-old finally ended his 28-race wait for a World Cup win last weekend in Kontiolahti and took gold in the 10km sprint on Thursday in the Norwegian capital.
Germany's Simon Schempp worked his way up the field in lap one to second place and remained there after shooting clean to cross the line taking silver.
Russian Ivan Tcherezov just clinched bronze after a photo finish with Svendsen pushed the Norwegian into fourth 26.2 seconds off the pace.
Evgney Ustyugov from Russia sits third with 675 points while Fourcade remains in fourth but closes the gap on the top three with 661 points.
