NICOLA MINICHIELLO recorded her best result of the new World Cup season with a sixth place finish in Igls this morning.

Driver Minichiello, a silver medallist at the 2005 World Championships, and partner Gillian Cooke, were fifth fastest after the first run in Austria but dropped down a place after Germany's Cathleen Martini recored a better second run.

Minichiello now moves to eighth in the World Cup rankings after a ninth place with Jackie Gunn in Winterburg and a seventh with Cooke at Altenberg last weekend.

Canada's Helen Upperton won with two solid drives to move up Germany's Sandra Kiriasis, who finished third, in the overall rankings.
