Adams and Marshall guarantee world boxing bronze
NICOLA Adams and Savannah Marshall have guaranteed two British medals at the World Boxing Championships in Barbados.
With less than two years to go until London 2012, when women's boxing makes its Olympic debut, both looked impressive in quarter-final victories that assured them bronze medals.
Adams, who won silver two years ago, beat South Korea's Euna Jang 12-1 to progress to a flyweight category semi-final meeting with Finland's Hanne Makinen.
Teenager Marshall was impressive once again in her victory over European champion Lotte Lien, progressing 6-2 to set up a last four with Dutch fighter Marichelle Jong.
Marshall, 19, beat her welterweight rival at last month's European Union Championships in Hungary.
