OLIVIA Hithersay proved she was the queen of the water as she helped Kensington & Chelsea take the kayak slalom honours at the London Youth Games Regatta.

The 17-year-old, who attends St James' Girls School in Shepherd's Bush, fought off fierce competition to scoop the senior girls kayak slalom title at London Docklands.

It capped a superb day for the borough of Kensington & Chelsea as they took the overall team slalom title, pushing the City of Westminster team into silver with Greenwich taking home bronze.

Hithersay was one of over 700 entrants from across 31 boroughs to lock horns across four sports on the Royal Victoria Dock on Saturday.

And she said: "This is the fourth gold medal I've won here - I love it. The Olympics is very exciting and hopefully in the future I can go to one and compete. It's great that they are in London and hopefully the whole city can do well.

"It was tough competition here but I'm delighted I have taken home a medal from here."
