IF Lucy Ridge's last competition is anything to go by then she is definitely one to watch out for - but the synchronised swimmer knows she is far from done.

The 16-year-old left the Warwickshire Championships in July with a host of medals weighing her down, including five golds, one silver and one bronze.

But the youngster isn't about to slow down, targeting the ASA National Age Group Championships in December for another medal haul.

And with Ridge still thinking she could have even more silverware to show for her efforts this year, she is determined not to miss out in Gloucester.

"In my last competition at the Warwickshire Championships I had a really good result and came away with a lot of medals which was great," said Ridge.

"It was particularly pleasing because at the British Championships in April I finished sixth in the duet with my partner Jessica Campbell - that was alright but it could have been better.

"Jess was quite unfit at the British Championships with a problem with her elbow so that set us back a bit and we could have done better and maybe got a medal.

"So it was nice to make up for that at the Warwickshire Championships and I want to do the same with the nationals in December.

"I think I can come top three in the figure routine if I work really hard between now and then so that is what I will be aiming for."

Ridge's accomplishments in the pool haven't gone unnoticed with Kellogg's highlighting the youngster as one of their Champions of Tomorrow.

As part of the scheme she will be mentored by Commonwealth Games silver medallists Jenna Randall and Olivia Allison, something Ridge insists will only make her better.

"It is really useful being on the Kellogg's scheme because I can ask Jenna and Olivia lots of questions and they can really help me out," she added. "They are both really nice and helpful and I reckon I will be better for their help."

Kellogg's has been supporting British Swimming for more than 15 years on a ‘grassroots to gold medals' programme of swimming. Visit www.kelloggs.co.uk/swimming for more information.
