After complaining that frosty ice had thrown him during his opening defeat to Switzerland, he responded with two more comfortable wins against Finland (7-2) and Japan (7-5).
After five matches, Murdoch's rink - last year's silver medallists - sit clear in second with only the undefeated Norway and Canada ahead of them.
He will now look to consolidate his position for the play-off games against China, who have yet to win, and the Czech Republic, who have won two, lost three, on Tuesday.
"The conditions are much better, it's great ice now," said Murdoch.
"If the ice stays like this it will really suit us and we can get on the roll we've been talking about.
"We're ahead of where we need to be. At last year's Worlds we'd already lost two matches by this stage and it would be nice to get a few more wins under our belt before we play Canada and Norway."
