It was Smith and Fenson's third match of the week and the Scottish skip and his rink - David Smith, Craig Wilson and Ross Hepburn - kept their nerve as the closely-fought encounter went to the wire.

And third David Smith produced the goods in the ninth and tenth end as Scotland stole a two to secure a 6-4 victory - another medal for Scotland, two weeks after Eve Muirhead won silver at the women's World Championships in Swift Current.

"It was so tough but we didn't give up," said Warwick Smith.

"We came here for gold, but a medal at world level is always fantastic and we're delighted with a bronze.

"We've had a great season and this is a brilliant reward for that hard work.

"We refocussed really well for this match and the guys were right up for it."

Norway and Canada will contest the gold medal match later today.
