DON'T call curling boring - just look at their pants.

Norway's trousers were the buzz of the opening day of curling competitions in Vancouver - and it's not hard to see why. Indeed it's not hard to miss them.

Not since the days of the late and great Payne Stewart have colours been combined in such a way at a major internatonal sporting event, although there is a rumour floating around that Ian Poulter might have already requested a pair.

Canadian captain Kevin Martin isn't the sort to push the fashion boundaries but even he seemed stunned, almost losing his opening match against Thomas Ulsrud's colourful rink.

"I think they're starting to look pretty cool," said Ulsrud.

"The chicks dig them but the guys - they're more doubtful."
