Double Paralympic gold medallist Cundy is looking for another winning double and will also make an attempt on the flying 200m time trial world record at the Manchester Velodrome.

The 30-year-old already has an impressive World Cup medal collection and has stood on top of the cycling podium every year since 2006, while he just missed out on a swimming medal in 2005.

"The preparations could not have gone any better," said Cundy.

"I'm competing in the two events in which I'm the Paralympic champion, so anything less than two more golds will be a big disappointment.

"The world record should be a bit of fun but I'm serious about it because it's something I'd love to achieve."

Cundy's main rivals will be British team-mate Mark Bristow and Japan's Ishi Masashi - won both won Paralympic golds in their respective classifications last year.

And Cundy, who also has this November's World Championships in his sights, is adamant the event marks the start of the long road towards London 2012.

"The year after the Paralympics is all about experimenting and trying new things to keep the motivation levels as high as ever," he added.

"I've been training and racing against able-bodied athletes to keep me hungry for success and hopefully that will show in Manchester."

The BT Paralympic World Cup is taking place in Manchester from 20-25 May with over 400 competitors from over 31 countries scheduled to compete.  Go to www.btparalympicworldcup.com for more information.
