COLOMBIA-Highroad's Michael Albasini won stage five of the Tour de Suisse in Serfaus, Austria.

Albasini bettered Switzerland's Fabien Cancellara in a two-man sprint that concluded a spiteful closing climb.

However, former race leader Cancellara couldn't capture the yellow jersey, which was maintained by Slovenia's Tadej Valjavec.

Meanwhile, cycling’s world governing body, the UCI, have started disciplinary procedures against five riders who have fallen foul of their controversial new biological passport system.

Pietro Caucchioli has already been suspended by his Lampre team while former world champion Igor Astarloa, Ricardo Serrano, Ruben Lobato Elvira and Francesco De Bonis have also been named and are awaiting possible sanctions.
