Laugher claims European diving gold

GREAT Britain's Jack Laugher claimed gold and just missed bronze at the European Junior Diving Championships in Helsinki.

Laugher was the most impressive in qualifying for the one metre springboard and continued to execute a high-level of constancy to win gold in the final, recording a score of 410.25 as team-mate Josh Dowd claimed sixth.

Laugher then teamed up with Harrogate team-mate Oliver Dingley in the three metre synchro but their total of 301.50 meant they had to settle for fourth after they missed their inward 2 ½ piked. 

Oleg Kolodiy and Olexandar Bondar, of the Ukraine, took gold.

Great Britain's Rosie Medlock also won gold in the women's platform final while Dingley rebound from his synchro disappointment to claim bronze in the three metre springboard final.
