TOM Daley claimed his third straight diving World Series silver but he failed to capitalise on the absence of world champion Qiu Bo in Moscow.

Daley, 17, had finished second to the Chinese diver in Dubai and Beijing and was hopeful of an upgrade this weekend

But with two dives to go the former world champion looked in danger of missing the podium, before a strong finish saw him claim second to another Chinese diver, Lin Yue.

Elsewhere, Chris Mears and Nick Robinson-Baker were fifth in the men's 3m springboard synchro and World Cup bronze medallists Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow were sixth in the final of the women's 10m platform synchro.
