Aldridge, who represented Great Britain alongside 14-year-old Tom Daley at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, allegedly tried to steal alcohol from the Beckenham store before hitting a security guard.
Bromley police confirmed a 27-year-old man has been arrested for shoplifting and causing actual bodily harm and bailed until March 28.
This is not the first time Aldridge has hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. The Olympian was fined £80 by police for shoplifting from DIY store B&Q and was involved in a night-club altercation which left him with severe facial injuries last year.
Teenage sensation Daley ditched Aldridge early in 2009 after tensions grew between the pair at the Beijing Olympics, with the former dismayed at his partner's decision to use his mobile phone during the competition while Aldridge blamed the youngster's nerves for their eighth place finish.
Police officers are now investigating CCTV footage of the alleged offence.
