HIGH HOPES: European junior showjumping champion Carian Scudamore is Britain's only equestrian entry at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore

Scudamore admits the inaugural Youth Olympics Games in Singapore will be more of a lottery than a certainty and believes whoever adapts best to that situation will trot away with gold.

Scudamore will be Great Britain's sole equestrian representative and should have strong medal claims, having won European under-18 gold last year.

But she faces a challenge to repeat the trick with all riders set to ride in the Far East on borrowed horses.

"I don't really know what to expect because I won't be riding my own horse out there," said Scudamore.

"When I am out there I will have four days of half an hour's training with the horse before the competition starts so there are not a lot of opportunities to get used to it.

"At home you just ride what you're used to and you ride the horses day in day out.

"But I am on good form at the moment and I am hoping that I get a nice horse when I am out there and it can go well.

"Rankings and things don't matter because it just depends on what horse you get."
