No medal for McCorkell after disappointing Free Program
BRITISH No.1 Jenna McCorkell was left to rue what might have been after a below-par second performance at the European Championships left her medal hopes in tatters.
The 22-year-old was fourth going into today's Free Program but a disappointing showing saw McCorkell earn 81.42 points - good enough for ninth overall.
Lightning has struck twice for the six-time British champion, as she was similarly poised after the Short Program last year in Zagreb, but could not repeat the trick in the second segment and ended up eighth overall.

Last year's bronze medallist, Laura Lepisto of Finland, claimed gold after a Free Program score of 110.70, which was good enough for second on the day, but first overall.
Italy's defending champion Carolina Kostner, who struggled in yesterday's outing, bounced back to produce the best Free Program score of the day, but came up short to claim 165.42 overall and with it silver.
And former silver medallist Susanna Poykio, also of Finland, claimed bronze with 156.31 points.
Karly Robertson, the other Great British female singles entrant in Helsinki, can be proud of her performance across the two days.
She produced a second outing score of 64.08 to finish in 21st place.
