Sir Alex gets his own way yet again over Park Olympic selection
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Sir Alex Ferguson appears to have got his own way after South Korea's Olympic officials waved the white flag over their attempts to take Park Ji-Sung to Beijing.
The 27-year-old midfielder suffered an injury-jinxed campaign at Old Trafford last season but returned in the final few months and featured as a near ever-present for Sir Alex's double-winning side.
South Korean officials were desperate to add Park as one of three over-age players in their under-23 squad.
But Park, who missed Saturday's World Cup qualifying win in Turkmenistan, is struggling with an injured left knee, having previously had surgery in 2007 and Sir Alex put his foot down over the proposed selection.

"Unfortunately, Park will not be selected for the Olympics," coach Park Sung-Hwa confirmed.
"After discussing the matter with the Korean Football Association, we made the decision considering the fact that Park isn't fit and he will be in competition at his club.
"Manchester United's pre-season training started on July 7 and it would be difficult for the player to come back and combine well with the team."
