PREMIER LEAGUE RESULTS: Chelsea and Tottenham maintain perfect records
GOALS from Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka granted Chelsea victory over west London rivals Fulham and maintained their 100 per cent record in the Premier League.
EYE ON THE BALL: Nicolas Anelka fires home Chelsea's second against west London rivals Fulham
Drogba opened the scoring six minutes before half time when he fired an angled shot past Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer.
And the Ivorian then set-up Anelka in the 76th minute, with the Frenchman's low shot ensuring there was no way back for the Cottagers.
And Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti was full of praise for his strike partnership.
"They can play together because they have good but different qualities," said Ancelotti. "Anelka is very quick while Didier is stronger.
"They played very well today - they scored one and created the other.
"In the first half Nicolas played near the wing but I prefer it when they stay close together."
Chelsea dominated the early exchanges but found it difficult to get past a determined Fulham defence until Drogba opened the scoring.
But Fulham were not without their chances and Clint Dempsey had the home side's best opportunity when he fired over from eight yards.
The win for the Blues was their 26th from 27 league and cup games over Fulham.
Meanwhile, Tottenham also continued their perfect start to the season and topped the table after a 2-1 win over West Ham at the Boleyn Ground.
West Ham opened the scoring with a spectacular effort from Carlton Cole, who flicked the ball up and smashed in a shot on the turn.
But Cole produced a mixed performance and, with England manager Fabio Capello watching, the 25-year-old's mistake allowed Tottenham to pull level.
Cole's misplaced pass put Jermaine Defoe clean through on goal and the in-form Spurs forward bagged his fourth Premier League goal of the season with a powerful shot.
And Aaron Lennon grabbed the winner eleven minutes from time after cutting inside and firing a left-footed strike into the top corner.
Elsewhere, Premier League new-boys Burnley, buoyed by their spectacular midweek win over defending champions Manchester United, continued their spectacular start to the season with a 1-0 win over Everton.
The Clarets dominated the early exchanges and Martin Paterson headed Chris McCann's cross against the bar after just 40 seconds.
And Wade Elliott's deflected shot after 34 minutes gave Burnley a deserved three points at Turf Moor.
