Reigning champion Ophelie David and Tomas Krauz grab wins in Flaine

WORLD No.1 Ophelie David has secured her first ski cross World Cup of the season along while Tomas Krauz was crown men's champion in France.

David, the defending overall champion, followed up her fourth and second place finishes in the opening two rounds of the season with victory on home soil in Flaine.

She fought off a late challenge from Canada's Ashleigh McIvor, who bagged silver, while Karin Huttary of Austria was third.

There was a slight improvement in form by British No.1 Emily Sarsfield, who was 31st compared with 38th and not finishing in the opening two rounds.

And fellow Brit Sarah Sauvey was hot on her heels in 32nd place.

Krauz of the Czech Republic came home in front of American Casey Puckett, who was second in the mens event, and Eric Iljans of Sweden, who finished third.

Top Brit was Angus Morison who claimed 56th position while Craig Robinson was eight places back in 64th.
