China dominate aerials opener in Changchun
FORMER world bronze medallist Guo Xinxin struck her first World Cup gold of the season in the first of three aerials events in Changchun.
The 26-year old managed just one podium finish during the whole of last season but looked to be back to her best in China, finishing with 206.09 points.
Despite a first run of 103.68, Guo was lying second at the half-way stage behind world silver medallist Xu Mengtao. However, Xu's second run of 77.87 saw her slip to third with both Guo and World Champion Li Nana overtaking her.
Britain's Sarah Ainsworth recorded her second best lifetime result of the 13th in her first World Cup of the season.
Meanwhile, in the men's event, Belarus' Anton Kushnir scored his first World Cup win for two seasons with a dominant victory.
The 25-year old won both runs in China with home favourites Liu Zhongqing and Wu Chao second and third respectively.
