Ski-cross makes its Olympic debut in Vancouver and Sauvey and British rival Emily Sarsfield had secured one quota place by their performances on the World Cup circuit.

But they were not in the two-strong freestyle skiing squad announced on Tuesday, prompting speculation that the pair had been overlooked - with the BOA - who have their own selection criteria - only expected to name the men's bobsleigh and skeleton team in tomorrow's final wave of selections.

But, writing on her blog, Sauvey confirmed she will be travelling to the team preparation camp in Calgary, with official confirmation expected to be announced in the next 24 hours.

"I've received an official letter confirming I have been selected to represent Great Britain at the 2010 Winter Olympics," she said.

"After this long journey and chaos that has unfolded along the way, I'm stoked that the perseverance has paid off."

Twelve months ago Australian-based Sauvey - who receives no funding and holds down two summer jobs to fund her skiing - had expressed fears for her Olympic dreams, claiming the BOA's selection criteria was too strict.
