THE British team left the Trampoline and Tumbling World Championships empty-handed after a disappointing display on the final day in St. Petersburg.

Zara McLean was the top finisher in Russia, scoring 60 points in the women's tumbling final to emerge sixth overall.

On a day that saw the host nation score six medals, Russia's Anna Korobeynikova scooped gold with 69.4. Her teammate, Elena Krasnokutskaya finished second on 66.9 and Canada's Ashley Speed third on 62.8.

In the men's tumbling final, Britain's Michael Barnes could only manage seventh on 63.5 while Russia's Tagir Maurtazev romped to gold with 77.3.

Adeva Bryan was also in action in the women's double-mini final but after a good first routine, suffered a hellish second performance and finished eighth with 54.9.

Russia's Victoria Voronina scooped gold with 68.3.
