GREAT Britain have got their under-21 World Championship campaign off to losing start, as an experienced Hungary side proved too strong in Emmen.

With an average of just one international cap among their squad, Great Britain battled but were no match for Hungary - who had an average of 23 - as they went down 38-21.

Seb Edgar top-scored for Great Britain with seven goals, while Scott Harrington added four and Robin Garnham three.

Bundesliga aces Chris Mohr and Chris McDermott both shrugged off injury worries to take part in the game, although McDermott only played for 42 minutes after being red carded for a third two-minute warning.

With plenty to learn from, GB will go into their next clash with Holland with optimism.

While they will need to be on top form to secure a victory, the side will relish the challenge of taking on the host nation with little expectation on their shoulders.
