Richardson levelled for England after Kim Jong Eun handed Korea a shock 1-0 lead after just 14 seconds in Rosario, Argentina.
Torrential weather had forced the match to be postponed from Thursday and while England poured forward after equalising just after the break, the floodgates did not open again.
England's opening to their World Cup campaign has been their best since 1990 but they got off to the worst possible start against Korea as Kim Okju's effort deflected in off Kim.
But from that point on it was largely one-way traffic with England wasting back-to-back penalty corners before half-time.
But it didn't take England long to level after the break, Richardson superbly dribbling through the Korean defence before pushing home a somewhat fortunate equaliser.
Korea responded with consecutive penalty corners, the second of which appeared to produce a goal before it was chalked off following video referral. Gim Sung Hee and Kim Bo Mi then both earned green cards as England were handed the advantage, but a winning goal failed to arrive.
However, Kerry declared content ahead of the final group game with South Africa, 4-1 losers against China, on Saturday.
“I’m really happy with the result," he said.
"It was an excellent team performance against what I see as one of the best teams in the tournament.
"We stuck to the game plan and did what said we would in preparation for the game.”
