A DOUBLE apiece from Sara-Jo Coakley and Sophie Bray ensured England got their Junior World Cup assault off to a flying start with a 5-0 win over France.

Both Coakley and Bray were in clinical form in front of goal, while Leicester's Lauren Turner also found the net as England began their campaign for the quadrennial tournament - being staged in Boston, USA - in perfect style.

It was Turner who put England ahead after just ten minutes, producing a smart finish after excellent work down the left from Great Britain's youngest ever hockey Olympian, 18-year-old Charlotte Craddock.

Despite that early strike, England were unable to add to their tally until after the half-time interval but it only took Coakley five minutes of the second half to double her side's advantage.

The Bowdon Hightown youngster made no mistake from close range, but England had skipper Sam Quek to thank for keeping their lead at two as she produced a superb diving clearance.

Birmingham forward Bray then got in on the act on 48 minutes and the floodgates opened just four minutes later when she teed up Coakley for the fourth.

And the rout was complete when Bray tapped in from close range with just eight minutes remaining.

The margin of victory was not enough to put England top of Pool A. Two-time defending champions Korea thumped Chile 6-1 and move above England on goals scored.
