Britain set up fifth-place play-off with Germany at Champions Trophy
MARK Pearn netted a late winner as Britain came from behind to see off Korea in a dramatic finale in Auckland and book a place in the Champions Trophy fifth-place play-off.
Pearn netted the decisive goal in the 68th minute as a James Tindall double and an Ashley Jackson strike - all in the second half - helped Britain to a 4-3 victory.
Despite getting off to a better start, it was Korea who opened the scoring - You Hyo-Sik lashing home from almost the goal line four minutes before the break.
They netted a second ten minutes after the restart thanks to a deflection credited to Seo Jong-Ho but Tindall got one back for Britain moments later.
Just on the hour mark Jason Lee's troops leveled matters with Jackson scoring from a penalty corner before Tindall put them ahead with his second in the 66th minute.
However they were pegged back a minute later as Nam Hyun-Woo converted a penalty stroke only for Britain to almost immediately net the winner through Pearn.
The win is Britain's first in three attempts, after losses to Australia, Spain and Germany, who they now face again in a play-off for fifth and a place at next year's Champions Trophy.
"We haven't prepared to peak at this event and I thought we did well to grind out the result after going behind," said head coach Lee.
"Physically we are not at our best at this tournament but I am pleased we are still able to get these results."
