GB girls still on a high after AYOF gold
BATH UNIVERSITY hockey player Harriet Pearce hailed her goal in the Australian Youth Olympic Festival final as ‘the most incredible hockey experience ever' as Team GB won gold.

GOLDEN GIRLS: GB celebrate extra time win over Australia in Sydney
The 19-year-old was a member of the British women's team that successfully retained their title in Sydney, in a successful tournament for GB that also saw the men collect bronze.
Pearce netted a crucial goal to level the scores against Australia at 2-2 in the last few seconds of normal time in the final - before Team GB went on to win with a golden goal in extra time.
"It was the most incredible hockey experience I have ever had, and has given me an insight into what international hockey really is," said Pearce, who has now returned to the UK with her gold medal.
"Scoring in the final was more than I could have dreamt of, and winning the gold shows how hard we really all worked for the tournament. It still hasn't quite settled in.
"It also gave me a better idea of what it's really like to play in hot temperatures - it reached 45.6 degrees in our games against the USA."
