MARK Garside secured a Great Britain victory over the Netherlands as they made it two wins out of two in their international ice hockey series in Sheffield.

Belfast Giant's Craig Peacock followed up on his double from the opening game to put his side ahead on ten minutes.

The Netherlands kept themselves in the game, keeping a clean sheet in the second period. In the end, it was only an impressive performance from goaltender Stephen Murphy which kept the Dutch out as he posted 20 saves.

But Edinburgh Capital's Garside eased the pressure on the home side in the final period when he got Great Britain's second on 48 minutes to ensure they finished the game 2-0 to the good.

The victories will be a confidence boost ahead of this month's World Championships against Croatia, Hungary, Korea, Poland and hosts Slovenia.

Meanwhile Great Britain's under 18s lost 9-0 away to a strong German side, who were only last year relegated from the Elite Pool.
