Clark has been selected alongside Euan Burton and Sarah Adlington to represent Great Britain at this weekend's German Grand prix.

In 2008 Clark could only manage seventh place at the Grand Prix when it was held in Hamburg, but since then has gone on to win the silver medal at the 2009 European Championships.

However, the 32-year-old disappointed in this month's Paris Grand Slam crashing out in the second round of the -63kg division.

"This is the last big event before the European Championships for me to fight some of the best players, including some from Asia," said Clark.

"This Grand Prix will be as heavily loaded as the Paris Grand Slam was with high ranking players.

"It will be a good opportunity to get a feel of where I am at in preparation for my key events later in the year."

Burton will compete in the -81kg category and will be looking to repeat the success of 2009 which saw him take the gold medal at the Tokyo Grand Slam in December.

After sustaining a wrist injury in Paris, world silver medallist Karina Bryant has had to withdraw from the +78kg division.

Fellow +78kg judoka Sarah Adlington, who recently won a bronze medal at the Sofia World Cup, will step up to the mat and take on the women's heavyweight category.

The tournament is the first of four Grand Prix's on the judo calendar, joining Tunis, Beijing and Abu Dhabi.
